Summary of Proposal
Proposed by: Jeffrey-Jan L. Mina
Project Title: “Expressions of the Soul” [WORKING TITLE]
Class: DIGITAL MIXED MEDIA 1-2 (This is listed formally on my schedule)
Instructor: Ms. Miles
Project Due Date: January 31st, 2011
Project Description
Type of Work
Portraiture
Concept
Throughout various settings/locations (either in SCPA, my house, or other locations), I will take pictures of different people with the expressions of human nature. Depending on the expression, I may/may not use props (such as a rose) to assist in presenting the emotion. For some of the more somber expressions, I may use the Studio with strobes/tungsten lights to highlight them.
Vision
By viewing my photos, I hope my audience will reflect upon the emotions they feel during their life. Often times, people only remember the bad times during their life, but tend to overlook the passing moments of happiness or other emotions, so this is a work that seeks to make people more self-aware.
Inspiration
I was simply inspired to do this by examining what really grabs my attention when interacting with others. For example, some may worry more about how others dress or about how they react to situations, but I tend to focus on how people tend to feel.
Equipment to be Used
Digital Camera and/or DSLR, (Possibly) Tungsten & Strobe w/soft box Lights, and a “Light Card”.
Presentation
Currently undecided.
